An all-new collection of short stories from the world of Magnus Chase!

Find out why Amir Fadlan hates clothes shopping in Midgard, see how Mallory Keen learns in icy Niflheim that insulting a dragon can be a good idea, and join Alex Fierro as they play with fire (and a disco sword) in the home of the fire giants, Muspellheim。

But watch out for Thor, who is jogging through all Nine Worlds so he can log his million steps - and is raising quite a stink 。 。 。

Nice little stories, told by other characters than Magnus Chase。Would recommend reading it right after finishing the third Magnus Chase book。 It makes the most sense then。

I read Magnus Chase series because it's written by Rick Riordan & I enjoyed Percy Jackson。 But I don't find Magnus Chase interesting & stopped reading in the middle of book 2。 It's so dull & boring。 Or maybe this series is made for teenagers。And I don't get the point of this 9 from the nine worlds book, just waste of money & time。 I even think print it as a book is just a waste of paper, and I receive defect book that should not be sell, uneven cut on the side of the book。 I sell it & glad someb I read Magnus Chase series because it's written by Rick Riordan & I enjoyed Percy Jackson。 But I don't find Magnus Chase interesting & stopped reading in the middle of book 2。 It's so dull & boring。 Or maybe this series is made for teenagers。And I don't get the point of this 9 from the nine worlds book, just waste of money & time。 I even think print it as a book is just a waste of paper, and I receive defect book that should not be sell, uneven cut on the side of the book。 I sell it & glad somebody want to buy it。 。。。more

Reading the two stories about Alex Fiero already made this purchase worth it。 Period。 But I do have to admit that I didn't care about quite a few of the other stories。 For example Odin's story was something I could easily live without, and sadly the same goes for some others as well。 Even for short stories, they were extremely short, so just when I got really into one of them, it was already over。Nine stories for the nine worlds totally makes sense, but every single one could easily be at least Reading the two stories about Alex Fiero already made this purchase worth it。 Period。 But I do have to admit that I didn't care about quite a few of the other stories。 For example Odin's story was something I could easily live without, and sadly the same goes for some others as well。 Even for short stories, they were extremely short, so just when I got really into one of them, it was already over。Nine stories for the nine worlds totally makes sense, but every single one could easily be at least 20 pages longer。 Thor's run through the worlds was amazing though, it's such a fun idea to connect all the stories and I kind of wish that he had gotten a longer story too, together with his goats Otis and Marvin。 Since Otis is the real star of the series anyway。 I also get that Rick Riordan was trying to give the side characters some spotlight, but I was missing Magnus Chase terribly。 Especially, Magnus and Alex together, since they make one hell of a badass couple and I will never get enough of them。 They would definitely be my favorite couple if Blitzstone, hadn't already claimed that title in the first book。 Hence, I wasn't too excited when I found out they didn't get a story together either。 I reeeaally don't want to read a story about Hearthstone and Inger together。 Like, come on: He is practically married to Blitzen。 So, please uncle Rick stop being a coward (and even more importantly: stop ruining my ship! ) and let them have their Disney-happily-ever-after 。If you are a fan of the series I would still recommend this book, since there were some really good stories, too。 It also had some hilarious moments in it, which made me laugh。 Overall, it's a quick and fun read and a good addition to the series。 And if you are like me a huge Rick Riordan stan, you definitely won't regret going for this beauty! 。。。more

I love the short stories across the 9 Worlds! And its great to see the perpsective of Blitz, Hearth, Sam, T。J。, Mallory, Halfborn and Alex。 Bonus with Odin and Amir!

Was this book “well written”?No。Did it have a “coherent plot”? Of course not。Did I eat up every word anyway because I was feeling nostalgic and missed my middle school comfort characters? Yes, obviously that is exactly what I did。

Delightful addition to the Magnus Chase series for all Fans suffering from serious withdrawals。 Overall I enjoyed these cute little stories and my only critique is that those were a little to short。

Very goodA funny addition to the three books。 I enjoyed getting to see the world in others view because in the “main” books the POV is only Magnus。

I had meant to reread the Magnus Chase series after I finished rereading PJO and the Heroes of Olympus, but I just didn’t have time in my reading schedule- so I thought reading this quick little anthology would be a good way to refresh my memory on the characters and the world。 It was, and it was a short, funny read, but it was disappointing that there wasn’t a story from Magnus himself, or one of him and Alex sharing the page。 Eventually I do want to revisit the Magnus Chase books again, but fo I had meant to reread the Magnus Chase series after I finished rereading PJO and the Heroes of Olympus, but I just didn’t have time in my reading schedule- so I thought reading this quick little anthology would be a good way to refresh my memory on the characters and the world。 It was, and it was a short, funny read, but it was disappointing that there wasn’t a story from Magnus himself, or one of him and Alex sharing the page。 Eventually I do want to revisit the Magnus Chase books again, but for now, this was a good way to get reintroduced to the characters。 And even with these short story anthologies, Rick’s writing style still holds true。 。。。more

I don't think I really jive with these characters or maybe it's Riordan's goofy style interpreting the Norse legends。 Whatever it is, something holds me back from enjoying anything Magnus Chase。 That said, this was an alright expansion of the universe and since it only takes a couple hours to read you might as well flip through it。 I actually really do enjoy Mallory and Halfborn together I don't think I really jive with these characters or maybe it's Riordan's goofy style interpreting the Norse legends。 Whatever it is, something holds me back from enjoying anything Magnus Chase。 That said, this was an alright expansion of the universe and since it only takes a couple hours to read you might as well flip through it。 I actually really do enjoy Mallory and Halfborn together 。。。more

I am disappointed。This is the lowest-rate I have given to a book and you have no idea how disappointed I am with the fact that it is a book from the Riordan universe that has the lowest-rate。Look, I love Magnus Chase series, so of course I would hold some expectation that this book would be at least worthy of three stars。But, guess what?Nah。This book feels like it was written in a rush。 Also, I don't know whether it is my humor that is broken or the jokes and references just failed to entert I am disappointed。This is the lowest-rate I have given to a book and you have no idea how disappointed I am with the fact that it is a book from the Riordan universe that has the lowest-rate。Look, I love Magnus Chase series, so of course I would hold some expectation that this book would be at least worthy of three stars。But, guess what?Nah。This book feels like it was written in a rush。 Also, I don't know whether it is my humor that is broken or the jokes and references just failed to entertain me。I had felt disappointed since the very first chapter, but then the chapter set in Midgard was actually good enough, so I think, ah, perhaps it will be good as it progresses。But, no。 The chapter in Midgard was the one and only entertaining part of this book。Putting on my sad face because I am that disappointed。 。。。more
